Over 30 local organizations met with NEAR (Network for Empowered Aid Response) monitoring and learning visitation team on August 29,2025 in Liberia. The team encouraged heads of participant organizations to form part of NEAR and to establish an Localization Lab. Application guidelines and forms shared with participants for onward actions.

NEAR Change Fund and Oversight Body Representatives visit Liberia to learn from United Youth for Peace, Education, Transparency and Development in Liberia (UYPETDL) Inc. flood disaster response project implemented in 2024 in 20 affected communities in Montserrado County.

The Team used the opportunity to engage with local organizations and provided awareness on localization agenda with focus on the establishment of Liberia Localization Lab.

Speaking on line during the meeting, NEAR's Africa Regional Representative, Mr. Eric Onyango provided the overview of NEAR and the application guidelines for becoming member of the Network. He called on local organizations of Liberia to join the global movement to ensure the localization agenda is a success.
